As a leader in the development of sustainable water and chemistry solutions, we are growing our presence and advancing technologies to become the premier water management company.
Our History
Our journey began with our founding in Gainesville, Texas, in 2011. The company quickly expanded into the water transfer and rentals space, becoming Select Energy Services. Over the years, we broadened our services and entered key regions such as Haynesville, DJ Basin, Fayetteville, Marcellus, Barnett, Woodford, and Bakken Shales.
In 2017, Select Energy Services went public on the New York Stock Exchange (WTTR), and through several strategic acquisitions, we grew our services offerings (water management and chemistry) and expanded into infrastructure–acquiring fixed assets, pipelines, disposal wells and recycling facilities. In 2023, our brands came together as one Select Water Solutions.
Today our strategic focus positions us long-term to the benefit of our employees and shareholders. We are uniquely positioned as the only full life cycle water and chemistry company in the industry. Our integrated infrastructure projects and innovative chemistry technologies have also led the industry toward sustainable recycling and reuse solutions. As one team, we have the agility, resources, and most importantly the talent to get the job done and build a strong foundation of growth for the future of Select.

Your safety is our priority. Select’s Lifesavers are declarative statements that each employee is expected to embrace for one simple reason-to save lives. Each Lifesaver statement is based on proven safety standards within the industry.
Stop Work
Select recognizes the right to work in a safe environment as the foundation of our safety program. As a result, all employees have the responsibility, authority, and obligation to stop work when they believe unsafe conditions or behaviors may endanger themselves, coworkers, contractors, customers, or the public.
Get Rewarded for Safety Excellence
Our Safety Recognition Program (SRP) aims to recognize and reward employees that go above and beyond in making sure they, their co-workers, and our customers remain safe. Safety Medallion Stickers are awarded for exemplary actions performed throughout the year, actively embodying our safety principles. As employees receive additional medallion stickers, they are rewarded with progressively larger monetary awards and custom gifts. Every year, those who earn all five are eligible for a chance to win the coveted grand prize—a brand-new full-size pickup truck.

The Drop of Excellence Award recognizes individuals for their commitment to operational excellence for Select and our customers. Recipients are chosen by leadership and recognized by CEO John Schmitz for their significant contributions to Select, for living our values, and for their exceptional work ethic.
Where We Operate
Shales are critical to the global energy supply, and we’re proud to play a role in many of the major shales in the U.S. Shale is one of the most common sedimentary rocks in the energy industry, particularly as a source of hydrocarbons like oil and natural gas. These shales were tapped into using advanced technologies that allow for the extraction of hydrocarbons trapped in tight rock layers. Major shales such as the Permian Basin, Marcellus, Eagle Ford, Bakken, and others have played pivotal roles in boosting domestic energy production, enhancing energy security, and driving economic growth.
